Hello- my name is Chris Swann and I live in Birmingham. In late August I am going to be cycling 820 miles from Santander, all the way through France and back home (I will catch a ferry to the start). I am going to be cycling alone and carrying my gear with me, including all my camping equipment. I will be taking two weeks off of work to complete it, but aim to go a bit quicker than that.
I am cycling to raise money for a charity I volunteer for, SIFA Fireside. They are a Birmingham based charity which works with people who are homeless, and also seeks to help those with problems with alcohol. I think it’s really important to raise people’s awareness of these problems which so often are overlooked, not just in Birmingham, but everywhere in the UK. I have volunteered for over a year now and found that a great deal of good work and energy goes into these causes.
Last year I ran in the Birmingham Half-Marathon and raised money through that, and this year I wanted to do something on a bit of a grander scale. So please sponsor me by clicking on the tab above, Thanks!
